The Florida Panthers announced this afternoon that they have sign forward Brett Olson to a one-year, two-way contract. Olson had a career year with the Panthers’ former AHL affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, this past season by putting up 45 points in 76 games played which was good for 4th on the team in scoring. The 28-year-old Wisconsin-native signed a similar contract just under a year ago that ended at the conclusion of this season which was Olson’s third in pro hockey.

He has yet to play a game in the NHL, and while it’s not likely he’ll compete for a roster spot, he could be an option if the Panthers need to make a call-up over the course of the season.
