As training camp and the preseason advance, roster changes continue to occur. The training camp roster initially was comprised of 51 players but today, it was reduced to 43. These reductions will continue to happen until there are 23 or 24 core players that will have permanent spots with the Panthers. Read more for information on the 8 players released from training camp today.
- Samuel Montembeault, the Panthers’ 77th overall pick in this past NHL draft, was sent back to his junior team, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the QMJHL.
- Wade Megan, Yann Suave, Chase Balisy, and Colin Stevens are set to report to the Panthers’ AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates.
- Rob Flick, John McFarland, and Sena Acolatse have also been released from training camp. The Panthers didn’t specify where they’re headed but this likely means they’ve been reassigned to the Pirates as well once they clear waivers, considering all three signed new contracts in the off-season. This move also comes less than a day after Acolatse racked up 4 minor penalties in game 1 of the Panthers’ doubleheader against the Predators.
