The Panthers announced this afternoon that head coach Gerard Gallant has been signed to a 2-year contract extension. The announcement comes just one day after Dale Tallon was given a 3-year extension as the Panthers’ general manager and after Tom Rowe was promoted to associate general manager.

Gerard Gallant was hired to be the Panthers’ head coach on June 21, 2014 after an extensive search by the executive team. He lead the Panthers to a 38-29-15 record making them the most improved team in the league over the previous season. Both Gallant’s extension and Tallon’s extension are even more proof that the Panthers’ ownership of Vincent Viola and Doug Cifu are committed to bringing stability to the team which is something that has been rare since the creation of the franchise over 20 years ago.
