With a few hours to go until the Panthers face the Canucks in the second game of a back-to-back, it’s been announced that Steven Kampfer has been activated from the injured reserve.

Kampfer has been out of the lineup since suffering a knee injury back just over a month ago during the Panthers’ 4-1 win against the Capitals on December 10th. He’s been healthy for the last little while, although the Panthers elected to keep him on the injured reserve until he was needed.

We’ve been told that Aaron Ekblad will miss tonight’s game against the Canucks after he was boarded by Matt Hendricks less than 24 hours ago in the Panthers’ 2-1 win against the Oilers.

Ekblad was slow to get up, although he did return to the game and finished it after spending a brief amount of time in the locker room. Matt Hendricks was scheduled to have a phone hearing with the league’s Department of Player Safety today and it’s very possible he’ll be given some sort of supplemental discipline.
