The Panthers will face the Toronto Maple Leafs for the final time this season on Monday in the first game of a back-to-back. Florida is coming off a 4-3 win over the Canadiens on Saturday night, a game which ended in dramatic fashion. For more on that game, you can read about it here, but essentially, the Panthers came back from a 3-0 deficit thanks to goals from Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Jaromir Jagr. With the Bruins losing to the Blackhawks on Sunday, the Panthers officially clinched a playoff spot for the 5th time in franchise history.
The Leafs are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night which saw Colin Greening and rookie William Nylander score in front of Garrett Sparks who made 23 saves on 26 shots.
The two teams last met less than a week ago on March 29th when Nazem Kadri recorded a hat-trick with Jonathan Huberdeau and Greg McKegg scoring the lone Panther goals in the 5-2 loss.
