Panthers Prospect Update #33: 5/23 – 5/29

Welcome to the 33rd edition of the Panthers Prospect Update! Here, we’ll recap the past week of hockey (5/23 – 5/29) for Panthers prospects and players in college, juniors, international leagues, and the Portland Pirates, the team’s AHL affiliate. With Jayce Hawryluk being the only Panthers prospect still in action, this will be one of our shortest updates of the season.

CHL Playoffs

Jayce Hawryluk, RW, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL):

2016 Memorial Cup (first 3 games for each team are part of a round-robin to determine semi-finals):

Game 2, 5/23, vs. London Knights: 0 points, lost 9-1

Game 3, 5/25, vs. Red Deer Rebels: Did not play after suffering a concussion in game 1, lost 2-1 in OT

With a loss in game 3, Jayce Hawryluk’s 4-year WHL career has come to end as he’s expected to join either the Panthers or the AHL team next season.
