Welcome to the 43rd edition of the Panthers Prospect Update! Here, we’ll recap the past week of hockey (11/28 – 12/4) for Panthers prospects and players in college, juniors, international leagues, and the Springfield Thunderbirds, the team’s AHL affiliate.

Season stats: 26 games, 5 goals, 5 assists, 10 points

  • 11/28 vs. Dynamo Moskva: 1 goal

  • Tied career-high in points (10)…had 9 points in 67 games last season, 10 points in 57 games as a rookie.

Other News

  • Henrik Borgstrom missed both games this weekend for Denver University with the flu. He has 8 goals and 8 assists in 14 games played this season. He was also named to Finland’s World Junior Championship camp roster.
  • Sam Montembeault missed his 6th consecutive game for Blainville-Boisbriand of the QMJHL with his last start coming on 11/12. He has been suffering from an undisclosed injury but is expected to return to action this weekend.
  • Ryan Bednard of Bowling Green State University earned his 2nd career NCAA win in his 3rd start on Saturday. He made 28 saves on 30 shots in a 4-2 victory:

  • Sam Brittain went 1-1 on the week for the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL. He made 31 saves on 34 shots on Tuesday and 17 saves on 19 shots on Saturday for the victory. Brittain is now 9-3 on the season.
  • Colin Stevens went 0-1-1 on the week for the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL. On Tuesday, he allowed 1 goal on 30 shots in a 2-1 OT loss and allowed 4 goals on 31 shots in a regulation loss on Saturday. Stevens is 3-4-0 on the season.
  • Joe Wegwerth recorded a primary assist on an empty-net goal for Notre Dame on Saturday against Massachusetts. It increased his career-high in points to 6 in 15 games.
  • Chris Wilkie recorded his 3rd assist of the season for North Dakota on Saturday vs. Boston College.
  • Linus Nassen scored his first career SHL goal on Tuesday for Lulea:

  • Jayce Hawryluk made his AHL debut for the Springfield Thunderbirds on Friday. He registered 1 shot before helped off the ice as a result of a brutal check to the head by Connor Jones of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Jones was suspended 4 games on Saturday:
