Other News

  • Matt Buckles, a 4th-round pick in 2013 by the Panthers, announced his retirement from hockey via his Instagram page on Wednesday.
  • Ben Finkelstein was named the USHL’s Defenseman of the Week for 1/21 through 1/28. He recorded 7 points in 2 games during that time for the Waterloo Black Hawks.
  • Ryan Bednard started both games this weekend for Bowling Green State University, allowing 2 goals on 29 shots in a win on Friday and 4 goals on 27 shots in a loss on Saturday.
  • Aleksi Heponiemi missed this past week’s games for the Swift Current Broncos with an injury, but is expected to return to action this coming week.
  • Tyler Inamoto recorded his 3rd assist of the season on Saturday for the University of Wisconsin. The freshman’s point shot rebounded at the side of the net for a teammate to tap in.
